Fabulous Flamborough, Friday 11th July 2025

With the weather continuing to be hot and sunny, i finished work and went home and picked Mrs R up and we headed over to Flamborough for the afternoon and early evening.

The journey over was a bit of a nightmare, with slow traffic, but we soon arrived at our destination.

First things first, and we had some lovely scoff in the Headlands Restaurant and then it was off exploring.

We spent the next 3 hours or so watching the Grey Seals and feeding flocks of Gannets and Kittiwakes off the headland, with many passing flocks of Auks heading back towards the seabird cliffs at Bempton to feed their chicks.

It was encouraging to see so many seabirds looking fit and healthy, with lots of Kittiwake chicks on the nesting ledges, a change to a few years ago when the avian influenza broke out.

We also managed to see a few Puffins, including one at sleeping up relatively close to where we were sat.

On every visit here, we always both comment on how much we love this place, what a great area to spend a few hours chilling watching the Seals, Seabirds and sea, bliss!.
