Yorkshire Dales, Day 3, Aysgarth Falls & Keld, Sunday 7th September 2025

The final day of our mini break away to the Yorkshire Dales today, saw us heading for the famous Aysgarth Falls first.

Today, the weather forecast wasn't great to be fair, but we headed out and made the most of our day before the forecasted rain arrived.

On arrival at Aysgarth, we purchased our parking ticket and went off to explore. It was immediately apparent that the River Ure was pretty low regarding its water levels due to the very dry summer we have experienced.

The falls though were impressive still all the same and it was really nice visiting again.

A nice diversion from taking photos of the falls, saw us enjoying some nice views of a singing male Dipper, always a highlight to anyone's day in my opinion!.

After enjoying Aysgarth, we made the decision to head over to Hawes for a cuppa and some brekkie before carrying on over the Buttertubs Pass to beautiful Keld.

After our arrival at Keld, we walked the short distance down to the River Swale and East Gill Force and Kisdon Force. Because the river levels here were low also, i only took a limited amount of photos, but it was still a joy to be back here again in this lovely little village.

Before long the rain arrived and we headed back to our cottage at Hebden and relaxed for the remainder of the day.

Well what a lovely little break away in this stunning part of god's own country and i look very much forward to us visiting again soon.
