Messingham Sand Quarries,What A Cracking Reserve!.

A few recent visits here over the last week has seen a profusion of interesting insects,birds and wildflowers being recorded,the following is a selection of photos of some of those encountered.
Pherbina coryleti - This Is A Species Of Marsh Fly,Who's Larvae Develop In Fresh Water And Prey On Fresh Water Snails.


Hoverfly - Eristalis pertinax,One Of The Commonest Species Encountered In Spring.

Gooden's Nomad Bee - A parasitic species of several Mining Bee's And A New Species For Me.

Wasp Beetle - Clytus arietis - A Member Of The Cerambycidae Or Longhorn Beetles.
