Caspian Tern,Frampton RSPB,Friday 10th July.

While walking around the local patch at East Halton Skitter,a message came through from the Lincolnshire Birders Whats App Group saying there was a Caspian Tern at Frampton Marsh RSPB.As i had missed the previous recent records of this monster Tern due to work commitments and it also being a lifer,i eventually got back to the car to make the arduous journey through the crappy Lincolnshire roads to Frampton.
After what seemed like a lifetime,i arrived on site to the relief the bird was still in situ and quickly grabbed the gear and made my way to view Reedbed Lake.
Until you see this species,it doesn't really sink in how big they are,but it postively dwarfed the Common Tern it was sat next to.
Some nice views were enjoyed of the bird as it preened and flew about, showing the key features, particularly the huge scarlet bill, what a MONSTER!.
This species breeds as close as the Baltic states and is still a relatively rare bird over here and a welcome addition to my UK bird species list, with me now on a respectable 479.
The following is a compilation of video clips and a couple of record shots of this superb beast.
