A cracking forecast for today saw us leaving the house relatively early and heading for Bolton Abbey, but on the way we started discussing that we hadn't been to the Lakes for ages,50 odd miles later and we were parking up at Bowness-on-Windermere.
The weather was very nice with a lovely breeze and we quickly boarded one of the Ferries across to Ambleside.
It really did make a nice change and it was great to see we were travelling on an electric boat instead of the diesel powered ones which are contributing to so much pollution here.
After arriving at Ambleside,we had a wander and some lunch before heading back across the Lake again and enjoying the lovely views of the Langdales as we passed by.
Back at the car again and we then decided to visit the lovely village of Dent, which was sort of on the way back to Hebden.
Some lovely views of this ancient village were enjoyed and we relaxed having a cuppa before an entertaining drive home along Barbon Dale with it's stunning views.
It was great today doing something we hadn't really planned and we had such a lovely time enjoying the stunning scenery in lovely weather.Barbon Dale,Above Dent.
