A good forecast on the cards for today, saw Tracey and myself heading to the Peak District to complete one of our favourite walks which takes in Monsal Dale/Upperdale/Miller's Dale and then back to the car.
It covers Monsal Dale, Monsal Head Viaduct, Cressbrook Mill & Water-cum-Jolly, Linton Mill and then back along the Monsal Trail to Monsal Head, passing through Linton and Cressbrook Tunnels.and back along Monsal Dale to the car at White Lodge Car park.
The walk is a really good one for birds and wildlife and we managed some great sightings. Birds obviously featured heavily, with the highlights consisting of 3 pairs of Dipper, 11 Mandarin Ducks, a pair of Goosander, 3 Grey Wagtail, 7 Chiffchaff and a Water Rail.
The incredibly warm conditions brought a few insects out and included 2 male Brimstone Butterflies and a Peacock Butterfly, my first sightings of the year.
It really is a special area, with some cracking scenery, the best of which i have showcased in the following photos.
