Pembrokeshire - Day 3, Tenby, Caldey island & Trefin To Abercastle, Sunday 24th May 2026
Today we decided to have a more relaxing day, and headed over to Tenby. We booked to go on a boat trip around Caldey & St.Margaret's Islands which was great and we saw a few Grey Seals and flocks of Auks, but the big surprise, was a summer plumaged Red-throated Diver just off Tenby Harbour.
After our day at Tenby, i got back and walked from the cottage and up to Abercastle and back along the coast.
A few nice birds were seen and included a Bar-tailed Godwit feeding in Abercastle Harbour, a pair of Choughs, a pair of Wheatear collecting food for their brood and a brilliant encounter again with the Fox Cub at Trefin. This time it showed amazingly well in the evening sunshine.
The following are more highlights from another lovely day in this stunning part of the world.
